Relief
2012
Embossed paper
24" x 18"

This artwork illustrates the feeling of relief one can experience after crying. The word "weep" is embossed vertically and horizontally into a sheet of white paper. The four Es overlap in the center of the image, forming a graphic shape that is reminiscent of a Greek cross or a plus sign. Thus the act of weeping, which is typically associated with negative emotions and reduction (because tears are shed), takes on a positive, additive form.
